ANDROGYNY
CALL FOR PORTRAIT SUBJECTS
Hi there! Thanks for checking out my portrait subject call. I'm doing a portraiture project focusing on androgyny as it relates to identity and I'm looking for folks who want to be part of the process. The project is tentatively titled Androgyny. Anyone who resonates with androgyny is warmly invited to submit a quick form below.
Want to know more? Who is this guy? Why are you doing this project?
My name is Jesse and I'm a photographer living in Northampton, Massachusetts. I grew up in this interesting, lovely, and quirky little area we call the Pioneer Valley. It's the most densely liberal and queer place I can think of, yet it also lives peacefully with substantially sized pockets of oppositely-minded reactionaries. Gender theory studies are more widely accepted than ever in formal education and people are feeling more and more free to explore who they are as individuals, instead of only who they are as a member of a certain gender.
The heart of this project is to celebrate and document liberated identity through portraiture. I used to do a lot of studio portraiture, but it's been years since I've had anyone sit down in front of my lens so this is also an effort of artistic revival.

What I'm offering:
- To have your portrait taken by me as part of my project
- I will give you a signed, high quality art print in an 8x10 frame
- You can use a low-res digital copy for anything you'd like
- I'm not interested in using any images that you're uncomfortable with
What I'm asking for:
- About 30 minutes of your time to have some tea, chat, and sit down to shoot
- Your blessing to use the image for display and/or print purposes
A small eclectic collection of past portraiture work can be viewed HERE.
If this sounds like your jam, I'd love to hear from you!!
Thank you for your consideration,
